girls21-201Another honey-do project, a new pantry, there are many more to come! We had another very unused corner in our laundry room. It was used by the previous owners as a place to drop the laundry from the upstairs (laundry shoot) but when we gutted and redid our master bath, we took out that feature.   After that it became a catch all for cleaning supplies, paint, hardware, etc. (I wish I had a before picture).  We really wanted to bring all of our pantry items from the basement up to an easier to reach place, we are BIG Costco shoppers; totally addicted.  So we transformed the catch all to our new Costco surplus pantry! Love it! Thanks honey!

I love to do art projects with M (and Lil S too soon).  I also thought it would be a great idea to incorporate art projects with our weekly playdate.  While I was perusing the internet for ideas for toddler art projects, I came across what has now become one of my absolute favorite blogs-The Artful Parent.  Her blog has inspired me to really take it to the next level and give them a space to get creative and messy (apparently we share a love for apple green laundry rooms, although her green is much better).  The permanent space will be down in the basement (new play area) but it will take a while to finish.  In the meantime, we set up shop in a corner of our laundry room because I just couldn’t wait to get started.  Here is the new temporary space. I will be sure to share some of the projects the kids do in their new Art Studio soon.

Ikea hack! This is a curtain rod with rings, used to hang art work and drying items!

girls21-232Another Ikea hack, this one is from Shisomama, check out her full tutorial. What a great idea and so practical too!  I researched toddler tables and this one was done for a fraction of the price!  The great thing about this table too is that the legs can be changed to grow as they grow!

I am not the only crafty/handy one in the family, so is my hubby, aka Honey-Do! He loves to do DIY projects around the house and I will make sure to feature them as much as I can!  We pretty much do most of our home renovations save a few of the big jobs that we leave for the “big boys”.  Here is my first “Honey-Do” feature!

I had overrun our home office/craft room so we needed some additional space to store all my supplies. We had an unused coat closet on the back side of our office in our entry area so we decided to turn it into my “Craft Closet”. My hubby had me sketch out what I needed and he threw it up in a day!

I am addicted to containers, I pick up most of them from the Container Store. They are really great for keeping all of my projects, supplies, and tools all organized.

img_9828My great friend, Jaime, made this for me. It’s a portable craft/wrapping station. It is one of the most thoughtful gifts I have ever received.

recipe-book-003After failing miserably for years in getting my recipes organized, I finally did it! I organized all of them and I love, love, love it! I found this great idea from Delicious Days.  Although I found that this one was more geared towards “creator” of recipes and I am more of a “follower” of recipes. So I basically used her ideas/concept and adapted it to a more “printer friendly” book.

I can’t even begin to tell you what a difference it has already made in my kitchen planning and organization. I am making one for my “tried and true” recipes and one for my “to try” recipes.  I think this will be a good way to plan out meals!

I found most of my materials from Staples. I wanted something that was updated and not just a boring black binder. I found the perfect one!  This fun 3 ring binder has a presentation sleeve on the front and on the spine. I also found a sheet protector with tabbed dividers.  It still was boring and black but because of all the sleeves, I added a touch of my own flare!  I used fun patterned construction paper to give it a modern look!

For the recipes I used sheet protectors. This way I don’t have to deal with paper tearing and also to protect from spills!

I tabbed all of my sections using Delicious Days choice of tabs plus tweaked it to add a few of my own.
