Welcome to 2011

I love beginning a New Year. A fresh start to pursue new goals, and a whole new year of celebrations to look forward to, and magical memories to make.  It all sounds so cliche but it is truly something I enjoy.  I spent day 1 of the New Year cleaning out my girls’ closets, rotating their clothes, and making lists of all the things I want and need to do.

2010 was such a fantastic year but it was also one that was all over the place for me… I felt a bit scatterbrained. I want this year to be more direct and simpler all while still maintaining all the activities I love and value—–time with family and friends, photography, blogging, traveling, crafting…..well you get the point. It kind of sounds like the opposite of simple but in my mind it’s more about simplifying each thing as it comes. I am hoping by being more organized and allocating my time better, I will balance my life more effectively.

One of the first things I have addressed to help achieve these goals for 2011 is improving my blog.  In 2010 I started dabbling in photography as a career.  In 2011, I plan on expanding that effort. I updated my blog to emphasize my photography while still maintaining all of the other crafty activities that I love. I teamed up with Timi of Cinnamon Girl Studios again! Not only is Timi a talented web and graphic designer but she has that feminine touch I love and it is reflected in the new layout. Thanks Timi!  Here is a look at the new layout.

Home Page–a new landing page with all the links to the rest of the blog. I included a little eye candy so you won’t get bored!

Photography–this will be where I feature all of the photo shoots that I have been busy editing in recent months!

Tutorials–I plan on featuring many more of these in 2011….stay tuned and enjoy!

Categories–this is my home for everything else…My day-to-day posts on family, crafting, friends, parties, thoughts, ideas, giveaways…….you name it and you will find it.

Etsy Shop–Honey Do and I have teamed up on a little shop featuring some of our crafty/carpenter goods. The thing I love most about Etsy is that you can make and sell and make and sell. You don’t have to list one thing and do custom orders. You can if you want but we really wanted a place where we can feature things as life allows us to.  So the shop maybe empty at times or it may be full. We will see, it will be a WIP and an experiment for sure!

Happy New Year to everyone.  Wishing you all a crafty, photogenic, and inspirational 2011.

There were many blog posts that I would have loved to have written about the girls and their adventures.  But there are not enough hours in the day. So instead I just enjoyed my time with them.  Here is a look back at their memorable year.

A bit of fun, some cute, a little quirky, and hilarious outtakes……

Bye 2010!

Happy Holidays!

The season is upon us and time has been flying by!  I haven’t hardly blogged as much as I wanted to this year but that’s because I have been busy with exciting new adventures in my life.

I have decided to enter the photography business world after great feedback from family and friends. I have been busy building up my portfolio. So busy that I haven’t had time to sit and enjoy the Holiday time.  But I can say with a big *sigh* of relief that I am all caught up and ready to sit, relax, and enjoy some downtime snuggling with honey do and the girls.

Well sort of…. I don’t sit very well.  I have exciting plans in the work….a blog makeover, some fun posts and crafty things, a new etsy shop, and lots of pictures from all of my Fall Sessions to share and of course the fun day to day life of my family!

I am looking forward to this Winter season to get everything up, running, and to take on 2011!

In the meantime I wish you all an amazing Holiday Season–Happy Belated Chanukah, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!!!

Celebration of Sisters……

Today is our birthday.

Happy Birthday Sissy. You mean the world to me. I love you.

No one laughs at my jokes harder than you. 🙂

God touched our hearts so deep inside, our special blessing multiplied.

There’s a special kind of freedom sisters enjoy.

Freedom to share innermost thoughts, to ask a favor, to show their true feelings.

The freedom to simply be themselves.
