It’s Jewish Tradition to give your child a Hebrew Name. For boys, the Hebrew Name is given the day of the “Bris”, on the 8th day of the child’s life. For girls, the Hebrew name is given in the synagogue, when the parents are called to the Torah and a blessing is said for the child. There is no set timeline for the girls but generally it’s within the early party of the infants life.
For our first daughter, Princess M, we scheduled her baby naming when she was 3 months old! The name we gave her was from her paternal great-grandmother, Frayda Chana. Since the actual baby naming was during the traditional Shabbat service (which runs long); we decided to host a celebratory lunch the next day on Sunday. It was a collaborative effort with my in-laws and it turned out fabulous! They provided the food and drink and I provided the decor! My BFF flew all the way out from California to be here for the big weekend and she helped us pull it all together! We had such a blast doing it! Thanks to Grandma, Baba, & Nettie too!! Enjoy!
