My Story/Fall

I really do love Fall here.  However,  it is bittersweet as it is a very clear reminder that Winter is right around the corner. It comes here hard and fast. So I won’t dwell on the fact that I am dreading winter but instead embrace what we have today.

Top 10 things I love about Fall.

  • Warm sweaters
  • Color changing
  • The morning light
  • Baseball Playoffs and World Series
  • Crisp air
  • Apple Picking
  • Leather boots
  • Pumpkins
  • Halloween
  • Baking

Dear Fall, please last as long as you can. Don’t let Winter steal your thunder.

What do you love most about Fall?

Spooktacular Day!

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did. It really was wonderful.

Meltdown free!

The girls were so happy and excited to get out and trick or treat in their costumes. They have been waiting and anticipating since the start of the month when we first started talking about it. Princess asked daily….”Is it Haw-oween yet?” or she would tell us as she went to bed, “Happy Haw-oween!”  Love it. It’s official. It’s their favorite holiday!

They both were very clear about what they wanted to be for Halloween. Princess wanted to be a mermaid and Firecracker wanted to be a witch. Funny how it fits their personalities.  I bought Princess M’s mermaid costume but I fashioned up a matching headband and wand.  I made Firecracker’s shirt, cut up some socks for her leg warmers, found the skirt and wings from Old Navy for 5 bucks, and attached the witch’s hat (dollar bin at target) to a headband so it would stay on!

They both loved their costumes and looked adorable!

They were off and running immediately, going from house to house. They were so cute and so polite.

I was happy and proud of them both.

Every now and then they would stop and do a candy assessment. A check of their loot.

They took time to stop and play in the leaves.

They took advantage of loved ones when they were tired and really enjoyed that Grandma and Baba were along for the ride.

When we got home they “helped” make their jack-o-lanterns.

Each of them dictated to me how and what they wanted to see on their pumpkin’s face.

They topped off the night with assisting in making the pumpkin pie and creating their own pumpkin pictures!

I love days like these.  Happy Halloween.

I hope your day was spooktacular too.

Baseball Family Photos

For me there is nothing better than a baseball loving family.

Honey-Do and I both grew up playing ball and it was so much fun to shoot this family in their baseball garb.

I love this family, they are a great group and the kids are so much fun. Each of them different in their own way.

Thanks so much guys for letting me spend the morning with you all!

Pink Week

It’s October. It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s Think Pink Week at I Heart Faces.

This is a very important cause for me. I lost both my maternal grandmother and my maternal aunt to breast cancer.

They were both very young.

My mom, sisters, and I go through mammograms, extra diagnostic testing, biopsies…..every year.

Every year we hold our breath and hope and pray for good results. So far every year has been good.

But I don’t want my 2 girls to have to endure all of that. I hope we can come together and find a cure.

This is my entry for this week’s think pink. It happened organically. There is a softball hidden under those roses. She picked up the ball to take it to our little friend and happened to reach out with her roses too.

I LOVE everything about this photo. So sweet. His expression is priceless.

Go check out all the other entries and start thinking PINK.
